Great to meet you!

My practice is guided by two simple beliefs:

1. People heal when they feel truly seen.

2. We are as unique on the inside as we are on the outside.

I work with adolescents and adults on anxiety, ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, burnout, and more. I have a particular interest in high-achieving women navigating anxiety, ADHD, burnout, and perimenopause—a combination I see often and that frequently flies under the radar for years.

Medication may be part of the plan. So might sleep, hormones, relationships, labs, supplements, breath work, therapy, diet, pharmacogenomic testing, and more. You're not a container we pop a pill into every day, but a dynamic human being, and together we'll figure out what actually moves the needle for you.

Before I became a nurse practitioner, I taught violin for over 25 years. I never expected that to matter later, but it turns out I'd spent decades practicing exactly the skills I use now: listening closely, meeting someone where they actually are, and trusting that healing—like learning—looks different for everybody.

I earned my Master's degree from Frontier Nursing University and am licensed in Virginia and Maryland. Whether this is your first time seeking psychiatric care or you're looking for a different perspective, I'd love to connect and learn how I can help you feel like the person you've always known you could be.

My approach to therapy

Sometimes the right medication changes everything. Other times, the biggest breakthrough comes from seeing things through a new lens.

  • Is poor sleep driving the anxiety?
  • Are hormones playing a role?
  • Is trauma still affecting the present?
  • Could untreated sleep apnea be contributing to problems with focus and energy?
  • Or could there be an underlying diagnosis that no one's recognized yet—one that helps explain why you've continued to struggle or only experienced a partial response to previous treatment?

I'll always recommend treatments supported by the best available evidence, but I'll also help you explore the bigger picture—because the right treatment plan isn't generic; it's built around what's actually going on with you.

Many people are surprised to learn that "therapy" isn't just one thing. Panic attacks, trauma, OCD, insomnia, and many other conditions often respond best to different evidence-based therapies. Part of my job is helping you find the approach that's the best fit for you—not just recommending "therapy" in general.

Above all, I want our appointments to be a place where you feel heard, understood, and truly seen.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is really about getting to know each other. One of the first questions I'll ask is, "What motivated you to schedule today's appointment, and what are you hoping to get out of our work together?" It's a simple question, but it helps me understand what's most important to you.

I'll ask about your symptoms, history, current stressors, sleep, relationships, and anything else that helps me understand you as a whole person. Sometimes that means talking about a recent move, increasing stress at work, caring for a sick child, changing family dynamics, or other life events that may be affecting your mental health. It's a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, but it should feel like a conversation—not an interrogation.

I want this to be a space where you can show up exactly as you are, because I believe people heal when they feel truly seen.

By the end of our appointment, we'll begin building a plan together. That might include medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, lab work, further evaluation, or some combination of approaches. Sometimes I'll recommend additional questionnaires or screening tools to help us better understand what's going on and ensure we're heading in the right direction.

Follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes and more focused. We'll review what's working, what's not, make adjustments when needed, and continue moving toward your goals together.
