Great to meet you!

I hold a PhD in Counselor Education and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) in North Carolina, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina, and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maine. I am also a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. My counseling style is grounded in a nonjudgmental, cognitive-behavioral approach. I believe in taking the time to truly understand each client’s perspective and collaborating to find practical, meaningful solutions that fit their life. My goal is to help clients build insight, develop effective tools that lead happier, more fulfilling lives.

My approach to therapy

In my mental health counseling work, I specialize in helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, identity development, attachment styles, stress reduction, self-esteem, and life transitions. In

performance psychology, I work with athletes, performers, and high achievers on concerns such as injury recovery, transitions, mindfulness, performance anxiety, burnout, self-talk, perfectionism, focus, visualization, imagery, performance pressure, and managing doubt. My professional background includes 25 years as a psychology professor, 10 years in private practice clinical counseling, and 7 years working in performance psychology across both private practice and Division I athletics. In addition, I bring 25 years of basketball coaching experience, which has deeply informed my work with performance, resilience, leadership, and personal growth.
