Great to meet you!

I'm a trauma-informed Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in North Carolina, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon. I received my Masters from the University of North Carolina and have been practicing for 27 years. I assist clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, grief and loss, addiction, relationship challenges, insomnia, and major life transitions. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals living with ADHD, Panic Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Schizophrenia. I have experience working in multiple settings including telehealth, outpatient, and inpatient.

My approach to therapy

I utilize several modalities in my counseling approach including Person-Centered Therapy, Dilaectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Illness Maintenance and Recovery (IMR.)

What you can expect from me

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for you and I to get to know each other and decide whether working together feels like a good fit.

During this initial visit, I'll likely:

  • Ask questions to understand what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what kind of support you’re looking for
  • Explain how I work, what therapy with me will look like, and what you can expect in future appointments
  • Give you a chance to ask any questions you have

This is a safe, judgment-free space to start the conversation at your own pace and get a feel for me as your provider.
