Great to meet you!

I'm Julie, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. I have worked as an individual Behavioral Health Therapist for four years. I love getting to meet new people and I have a passion for helping those who are struggling to find peace of mind.

My approach to therapy

I am certified in Complex Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and take a skills and mindfulness based approach with many clients.

In therapy sessions with me, we will discuss goals for therapy and life regularly to ensure we are on the same page. I also help clients to reach their goals by building up coping skills. Fine-tuning coping skills helps clients to best handle difficult emotions, relationships, or situations. Clients also work on mindfulness skills, which helps clients to 'live in the moment' and to learn how the mind and body are connected.

I am direct with clients while in session to ensure we are on the same page about boundaries for life and therapy. I also take a strengths-based approach, every client has something to bring to the table!

What you can expect from me

Clients should expect a warm and welcoming environment where they can share at whichever pace they choose.

We will discuss an overview of expectations for sessions and limits to confidentiality as identified by state laws. Clients will be asked about interpersonal life, impactful events from the past, and any other present concerns. Time will also be taken to go over client goals for therapy and your own expectations for sessions.

Client boundaries and expectations are important for ensuring initial and continued success: don't be afraid to ask for what you want in session!
