Great to meet you!

Kalisha Brown founded Breaking Cycles Counseling with the mission to provide mental health support for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and interpersonal or relationship issues. She recognized a significant gap in mental health services for low- to moderate-income individuals, as well as the need to address cultural biases within therapy. Driven by a passion to offer accessible, culturally competent care, Kalisha created a group practice where individuals could receive the mental health support they needed without financial barriers. Breaking Cycles Counseling focuses on empowering clients to break free from harmful patterns, fostering emotional well-being, and improving relationships in a supportive, inclusive environment.

My approach to therapy

We utilize various trauma-informed therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, habit reversal training, exposure response therapy, acceptance therapy and mindfulness to help clients embrace healthy coping mechanisms and develop confidence in their own resilience. We can build resolutions for harmful generational cycles and explore systematic challenges that have impacted your growth and healing.

What you can expect from me

We strive to create a warm and welcoming environment to promote a safe space for one to be their authentic self, to bring positive change and development. Together we can walk the path toward emotional wellness, despite history, socioeconomic status, and cultural background. The goal is to gain insight, awareness, and help my clients write their own narrative.
