Great to meet you!

I'm Dr. Katherine Eyegue-Sandy, a doctoral-prepared, board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 15 years of experience as a nurse practitioner. I specialize in psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy, and I have the privilege of working with clients across the full lifespan — children ages 5 and older, adolescents, adults, and older adults — because I believe that every stage of life deserves thoughtful, compassionate, expert mental health care.

What sets my practice apart is that I bring the whole picture into the room. I don't see you as a diagnosis or a checklist of symptoms. I see a whole person — with a unique story, real strengths, and an incredible capacity to heal and grow. My care is holistic, culturally responsive, and deeply empowering. I want you to leave every session feeling more clear, more grounded, and more equipped than when you walked in. You deserve that — and I am here to help make it possible.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, solution-oriented, and empowering. I combine psychiatric expertise with psychotherapeutic support so that we can address both the biological and emotional dimensions of your mental health — you never have to choose one over the other. True healing, in my experience, happens when we treat the whole person, not just the presenting problem.

I practice from a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens, meaning I honor your background, your identity, and your lived experience as central to your care. Together, we identify what is standing between you and the life you deserve, and we build practical, personalized strategies to move you forward — at a pace that feels right for you. I believe you already carry more resilience than you realize. My role is to help you access it, build on it, and use it to create lasting, meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about you — your story, your struggles, and what has brought you to this moment. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, or simply a weight you can no longer carry alone, you will step into a space that is warm, safe, nonjudgmental, and completely yours.

I will never make you feel like a case file. From the moment we connect, my intention is for you to feel genuinely heard, deeply respected, and truly understood — perhaps in a way you haven't felt in a long time.

During our first session, I conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation — but please don't let that sound intimidating. It is really a rich, meaningful conversation where I take the time to understand you fully. We will explore your current concerns and symptoms, your mental health and medical history, the lifestyle factors that shape your day-to-day experience, and most importantly, your personal goals for treatment. I want to know not just what you are struggling with, but who you are and where you want to go.

By the end of our time together, you will have a clearer understanding of what you are experiencing, and we will begin building a care plan that is thoughtfully designed around your life, your strengths, and your vision for healing. You will not leave with more confusion or uncertainty. You will leave with clarity, with a real plan, and with the knowledge that you no longer have to carry this alone.

That is my promise to you from day one.
