Great to meet you!

I see clients of all ages on a variety of issues. Whether you are looking to process day to day stressors, or heal from past wounds, I work with my clients to create a safe, caring atmosphere. I place a strong emphasis on building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. Areas of experience and interest include working with teachers and those in education, divorce recovery, career and vocation exploration, ADHD, dream analysis depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts/behaviors. This list is not exclusive, so please reach out with questions.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the public school system as a middle school teacher for 6 years. My education, work, and life experiences offer a deeper understanding into human development and the profound impact that childhood years have on our lives. I also have experience as a crisis interventionist and supporting those impacted by addiction.

My approach to therapy

I utilize a client-centered approach, working collaboratively with my clients to identify their goals and develop a customized treatment plan.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will discuss intake information, such as the limits of therapeutic confidentiality, billing and scheduling information, as well as answering any questions the client may have coming into the appointment.

Next, we will spend time discussing what brings the person to therapy, and get to know them further. We will begin to explore their background, current life experiences, and both short and long-term ideas for their life. We also discuss how our time together in therapy can be utilized to help them reach their goals. Through this intake process, I will demonstrate and discuss my approach to therapy. Hopefully, we will also build connection and get a sense of if our personalities will work well together.

As the time comes to a close, if the client is feeling comfortable, we can discuss directions and recommendations for treatment, future sessions, and scheduling.
