Great to meet you!

It wasn’t a far stretch after majoring in psychology to pursue a master’s in counseling. I began working with residential adjudicated youth and inner-city high-risk youth in the schools. In my work with adults and I noticed the same wounded child. I help to facilitate healing the wounds of childhood by joining the child and adult into wholeness using Somatic Experiencing and Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy. I work primarily with anxiety, depression and trauma.

My approach to therapy

Working with anxiety, depression and trauma, it is crucial to titrate progress, so the nervous system doesn’t become overwhelmed. Starting out the focus will be how to stabilize and build capacity to be with the challenges of daily life and later, the processing of trauma. I believe we are 3 dimensional beings--good, bad, and ugly. By learning to accept all sides, we can become more kind and compassionate humans to ourselves and others.

What you can expect from me

Being a yogi, I approach therapy with a holistic lens physically, mentally, and spiritually. I believe it is within the context of relationships that we are wounded and that within the context of a therapeutic relationship an avenue for healing can be achieved. By learning how to set healthy boundaries, manage and heal our survival responses, and expand our capacity to thrive, we can return to relationships with other humans in a way that is beneficial to all globally.
