Kristin Hines

I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland with extensive experience working with adults particularly those involved in the court, forensic, and crisis mental health systems. I have worked in a wide range of settings, including forensic psychiatric hospitals, juvenile court services, and hospital emergency departments. This means I am comfortable supporting clients who are experiencing high levels of stress, crisis, legal involvement, or complex mental health needs.

My clinical approach is collaborative, structured, and strengths-based. I draw from evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and psychoeducation. I focus on helping clients build practical coping skills, understand their emotions and behaviors, and feel empowered in their treatment.

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe, supportive working relationship. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, respected, and heard from the very start. During our first meeting, we will:

• Talk about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it
• Review important information such as confidentiality, limits to confidentiality, and your rights as a client
• Discuss your personal history in a way that feels manageable and not overwhelming
• Identify current stressors, strengths, and areas where you want support
