Great to meet you!

I'm Dr. Kryz Novotnaj, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and Advanced Clinical Autism Specialist based in Honolulu. I care for children, teens, and adults, with a special focus on autism, ADHD, anxiety, mood concerns, and trauma. I'm also trained in applied behavior analysis and pediatric primary care, so I look at the whole picture: development, behavior, physical health, and family life. I'm a parent of young kids myself, and I understand how much it takes to ask for help.

My approach to therapy

My care is collaborative, evidence-based, and grounded in respect for each person's goals. I combine thoughtful medication management with practical behavioral strategies, and I involve families, schools, and other providers when it helps. I believe in starting with understanding before treatment, making decisions together, and adjusting the plan as you grow. You should always leave a visit knowing what we're doing and why.

What you can expect from me

Our first visit is about getting to know you. We'll talk through what brings you in, your history, your strengths, and what you hope will change. For children, I'll spend time with both the child and caregivers. I may suggest screenings or labs when useful. By the end, you'll have an initial understanding of what's going on, a clear plan for next steps, and space to ask every question you have. There's no pressure to decide anything on the spot.
