Great to meet you!

Lacey Thompson, MSW, LICSW, QMHP, is a dedicated and accomplished clinician with a strong professional foundation in social work. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Committed to enhancing quality of life, Lacey has devoted her career to positively impacting individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities.

Guided by a deep commitment to empowerment and equity, Lacey founded Laceys' Light L.L.C., an organization dedicated to the mission of Make. Mental. Health. Make. Sense. Through psychoeducation and a multicultural, person-centered approach, she seeks to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to improve their overall well-being. Recognizing that there is no universal manual for life, Lacey believes that through supportive collaboration, individuals can develop a personalized blueprint that honors autonomy while strengthening self-awareness and a sense of self.

My approach to therapy

Lacey is widely recognized for her compassionate, empathetic, and culturally responsive approach to care. Her commitment to behavioral health is evident in her energetic, solution-focused practice. She employs a holistic, individualized framework that thoughtfully considers each client’s unique identities, backgrounds, and life circumstances.

She is particularly known for her exceptional ability to establish meaningful rapport with clients, including individuals who may have previously struggled to connect in clinical settings. Lacey’s dedication to embracing diversity, advancing equity, and empowering others is reflected in her skill in cultivating collaborative, strengths-based relationships in which individuals feel valued, respected, and genuinely understood.

What you can expect from me

Lacey refers to the initial appointment as an open, exploratory session, encouraging clients to begin wherever they feel most comfortable and proceed at their own pace. She supports clients in organizing and understanding their experiences in order to develop a solution-focused plan that promotes healing and growth collaboratively.

Recognizing the urgency many individuals feel when seeking relief from life’s challenges, Lacey is committed to creating a psychologically and emotionally safe environment from the outset. She prioritizes the development of trust and rapport during the first session by fostering a space that is free from bias and judgment, thereby supporting honesty, respect for autonomy, and meaningful therapeutic engagement.
