Great to meet you!

I’m Latoya Smith, a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.

I’m not just a therapist—I’m a mom, a mentor, and a middle child from a big Miami family. I know what it’s like to juggle responsibilities, to feel unseen, and to keep pouring from an empty cup. That lived experience shapes how I connect, how I listen, and how I help.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based care. I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported—and that’s exactly what I strive to offer.

I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, and major life transitions, using proven modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based strategies. But therapy with me isn’t just about techniques—it’s about connection. I bring my full self into the room: clinical expertise, lived experience, deep empathy, and yes, a healthy dose of humor. Because healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time.

Together, we’ll gently unpack the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be holding you back. We’ll explore them with curiosity and compassion, and reconstruct them in ways that support your growth, clarity, and resilience. I meet you where you are, and walk with you toward where you want to be.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, I’m here to help you move forward—with intention, insight, and heart.

What you can expect from me

My ideal client is an adult who’s high-functioning on the outside but quietly overwhelmed on the inside. They’re juggling work, family, and personal responsibilities—often putting themselves last. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, or a major life transition like a career change, relationship shift, or grief. They’re insightful, emotionally intelligent, and ready to do the work—but they need a safe space to unpack the weight they’ve been carrying.

They’re tired of “just coping” and want to feel better, not just functional. They’re open to evidence-based strategies like CBT and mindfulness, but they also appreciate a therapist who brings realness, humor, and humanity into the room. They may have tried therapy before and felt unseen or misunderstood. Now, they’re looking for someone who gets it—someone who can hold space for both their pain and their potential.

They value growth, clarity, and connection. And while they may arrive feeling depleted, they’re ready to rebuild—with compassion, curiosity, and a little laughter along the way.
