Great to meet you!

My name is Linda Taillon, and I have more than 24 years of experience providing compassionate, individualized psychotherapy in a safe and confidential environment. My approach is grounded in a strong therapeutic relationship and tailored to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sand Tray Therapy, Play Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, and Adlerian principles when appropriate. We will want to have the knowledge and awareness of the Polyvagal Theory and how our nervous system works, which will be explained as we begin our work.

Whether you are coping with trauma, anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply seeking personal growth, therapy can provide the tools and support to help you move forward. While life will always present challenges, you do not have to face them alone.

I would be honored to partner with you on your journey toward healing, resilience, and lasting emotional well-being. Please feel free to contact me to learn more or to schedule an appointment. I look forward to supporting you in achieving your personal and mental health goals.

My approach to therapy

I believe that mental health is more than the absence of symptoms—it is the ability to live a meaningful, balanced, and fulfilling life. My therapeutic approach is holistic, collaborative, and strengths-based. I work alongside clients to understand their unique experiences, identify barriers to well-being, and build practical skills for lasting change. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, including CBT, EMDR, play therapy, sand tray therapy, and clinical hypnosis, I tailor treatment to each individual's developmental needs, personal goals, and strengths. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where healing, resilience, and personal growth can occur.

What you can expect from me

Often, when seeking psychotherapy for ourselves or our family, we are feeling vulnerable, which increases the struggle to ask for support. Quite frequently, I hear, “What is wrong with me?’, “I'm strong, why can't I deal with this?”, "I just want to feel better...will I?" You are strong, as it takes strength to reach out to a professional. Underneath, what I often call “the muck”, are parts of you desiring to obtain the desired happiness.

During our first meeting, we will discuss:

  • What brings you to therapy at this time? Why now?
  • Your current concerns, challenges, and goals.
  • Relevant personal, family, medical, and mental health history.
  • Your strengths, supports, and coping skills.
  • Any questions you have about the counseling process.

You are encouraged to share only what feels comfortable. There is no expectation that you tell your entire story in one session. We will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

Also, the first session is an opportunity for you to determine whether I am the right therapist for your needs. I welcome your questions about my approach, experience, and treatment recommendations. Therapy is most effective when there is a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, safety, and mutual respect. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we will work collaboratively toward your goals for healing, growth, and lasting change.
