Great to meet you!

I have enjoyed practicing psychotherapy for over 30 years now. It is a great privilege to work with individuals from all backgrounds who are courageous enough to share the most intimate details of their lives and work towards self-improvement. I specialize in working with adults with a wide range of concerns, and am skilled in several theoretical frameworks.

As a veteran and former VA clinician, I understand the unique concerns of veterans and service members.

My approach to therapy

I work best with adults who are open to considering how their current behaviors and attitudes impact their experiences; clients who externalize or blame others for their current problems generally do not make much progress. The process of therapy is about introspection and a consideration of what attitudes and behavior patterns may have worked for us in the past in order to survive a dysfunctional family or traumatic experience but are no longer working for us.

What you can expect from me

The process of therapy is about introspection and a consideration of what attitudes and behavior patterns may have worked for us in the past in order to survive a dysfunctional family or traumatic experience, but no longer work for us. Good therapy happens when we are able to create the life we want despite the struggles we may have had to face, and also when we learn to use the strengths we've developed as a result of those struggles to achieve our goals.
