Great to meet you!

There's a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from carrying trauma nobody else fully understands, whether it traces back to childhood, military service, or navigating the world as an LGBTQIA+ person. I work with adults carrying that weight, especially those processing childhood trauma, PTSD, and the layered experience of being queer or transgender in spaces that haven't always been safe. I also work closely with veterans and men navigating identity, trauma, and substance use. With over 30 years in this field, I've learned that healing starts with feeling genuinely seen rather than judged or told who you're supposed to be.

My approach to therapy

Together, we won't just talk about what you're struggling with today. We'll trace where those patterns came from and what you actually need to move forward. You bring your experiences, strengths, and goals, and I bring clinical knowledge and the willingness to sit with you through the hardest parts without judgment. I go deep rather than wide, particularly with trauma shaped by identity, whether that's growing up LGBTQIA+, serving in the military, or living with borderline personality symptoms that have made relationships feel unpredictable. Clients who do well with me are usually ready to look honestly at where their patterns started, even when that's uncomfortable. My hope is that you leave with more emotional freedom and a life that feels authentically yours.

What you can expect from me

A first session with me isn't an interrogation. It's a conversation where you get to tell your story at your own pace, and I listen with curiosity rather than an agenda. If you're tired of feeling like you have to explain or defend who you are before anyone will actually help you, I'd be glad to talk.
