Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome, my name is Dr Steven Clevenger and I am here to help you achieve a sustainable recovery. My education was in California and trained in both a rural setting in West Michigan and in Urban NYC at Zucker Hillside Hospital. My areas of focus include PTSD, men's mental health issues, phase of life issues, adolescent and adult issues, severe mental illness(schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder), as well. In addition I have one year of training in child and adolescent psychiatry. Please note I am not currently accepting new psychotherapy patients. If you are looking for only talk therapy please do not book.

My approach to therapy

Collaboration is key to effective treatment. My practice is based on principles of a non-judgmental approach, there is no “ideal person”, each one of us is unique and it will be our goal together to help you achieve the best version of yourself. I have an extensive background in treating challenging patient populations and have published literature in lifestyle medicine, psychopharmacology, and quality of life care. Together we will use an evidence based yet humanistic approach to help you. Please note I am not currently accepting new psychotherapy patients. If you are looking for only talk therapy please do not book.

What you can expect from me

Our first few sessions will be focused on information gathering and getting a full picture of the issues that you are facing. Medications will be prescribed at appropriate. After the first 1-3 sessions we will lay out short term and long term treatment goals. These goals will be based on observations made by the clinician, issues identified by the patient. Goals will be discussed and mutually agreed upon. Subsequent sessions will be to monitor progress and make adjustments to our plan. Please note I am not currently accepting new psychotherapy patients. If you are looking for only talk therapy please do not book.
