Great to meet you!

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor | Maryland & Maine

I am Vanessa O’Mara, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) dedicated to supporting women as they navigate the complexities of daily life. Whether you are managing the weight of anxiety and depression, working through relationship concerns, or facing the uncertainty of a major life transition, I am here to help you move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling empowered.

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. My style is warm and affirming, centered on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be your authentic self. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify and shift the thought patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while helping you build the resilience and practical tools needed to handle life’s stressors with greater confidence.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, you can expect a partner who listens with curiosity and empathy. We will combine the structured insights of CBT with a supportive environment to develop practical strategies for lasting change. My goal is for you to leave our sessions feeling truly heard, supported, and better equipped to create a life that feels balanced and fulfilling.

Outside of the office I am a firm believer in the power of community and movement to stay grounded. When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me weight lifting, spending quality time with my three dogs, or soaking up the energy of a live music concert. I find so much joy in the connection of community—whether that’s singing and dancing in a crowd of music lovers or simply enjoying the company of my animals.
