Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Wendy Durant-Nelson, LPC-S, PhD, N.D., LPC-S. New Orleans is home, and for more than 20 years I’ve had the privilege of helping adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. My counseling style blends evidence-based care with the warmth, authenticity, and genuine connection that the South is known for; you’ll find a space where you can show up exactly as you are and feel truly heard. I specialize in anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship concerns, depression, and women’s issues, using practical, compassionate approaches tailored to your unique needs. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for growth, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey. ⚜️💜💚💛

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a conversation, not an interrogation. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct, creating a space where you can be honest without fear of judgment. I specialize in anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship concerns, and life transitions, using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ERP, ACT, mindfulness, and attachment-focused therapies. Together, we’ll work to understand what’s keeping you stuck, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that help you create the life and relationships you want. 💜💚💛⚜️

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a warm, supportive conversation focused on understanding what brought you to therapy and what you hope will be different in your life. We’ll explore your current concerns, identify your strengths, and begin developing goals that feel meaningful and realistic to you. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we can work together and a plan for moving forward. 💜💚💛⚜️
