Great to meet you!

My name is Marisa, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor practicing in NJ, VA, and DE. I am deeply committed to my work, which shows in my ability to connect with my clients. My goal is to empower individuals and families while remaining collaborative and receptive to your feedback throughout our time together. I believe it is far more valuable to understand your life through your own lens, rather than applying a rigid, one-size-fits-all intervention. A deeply personalized, multicultural approach is central to my practice. Together, we will explore the unique layers that shape you.

My approach to therapy

To honor your unique story, I use a collaborative blend of clinical modalities tailored entirely to you. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Multicultural Modalities, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) to help navigate trauma and PTSD. Because healing is rarely linear, our work adapts as you grow.

What you can expect from me

Central to my practice is a deeply personalized, multicultural approach. To build a complete picture of your experiences, we will explore the unique layers that shape who you are:

Identity & Heritage: Your race, ethnicity, religion, and socioeconomic background.

Family Roots: Your birth order, family dynamics, and early upbringing.

Formative Influences: Your generational background and the role models who inspired you.

Cultural Perspectives: How mental health, well-being, and career paths were viewed in your culture.

By looking through this holistic lens, we can honor your lived experiences and build strategies that feel authentic, respectful, and deeply aligned with your needs. Every part of your story matters, and I invite you to reach out today so we can begin exploring your unique journey together.
