Dr. Sharon Kim

Welcome to my site! I have been a therapist for approximately 20 years, and I specialize in complex trauma, DID, human trafficking and sexual exploitation. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology from Goucher College, my Master's in Developmental Psychology from Johns Hopkins University and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. Most of my career has been in community mental health, so I have worked with all kinds of people dealing with complex problems.

We are a team. I like for us to work collaboratively to figure out what works for you. While I use EMDR primarily to treat PTSD, I don't expect every session to be focused on processing through painful trauma. We will work together to find what you need at each session, and I will offer everything I can from my 20 years of tools!

PTSD is 100% curable, and we will cure it together. My goal is to make everyone feel safe and supported, so that no client walks into the darkness of trauma alone. I am a survivor of complex trauma, so I am proof that trauma is curable. I also completely understand how it feels to walk in your shoes, so you will never have to explain it to me. We are partners in this hard work, and, as long as you are putting in the work, I will be here as long as it takes.
