Great to meet you!

I specialize in psychotherapy for children ages 6 to 18, helping them navigate early experiences of anxiety, grief, and emotional overwhelm. With over 30 years of clinical experience, I provide a warm, supportive space where children feel safe to express themselves and begin to understand their emotions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is developmentally tailored and integrates play therapy, expressive arts, therapeutic storytelling, somatic awareness, and cognitive behavioral strategies. I help children identify and name their feelings, build self awareness, and develop practical coping skills they can use in everyday life. Many children express distress through behavior or physical symptoms, and I support them in translating those experiences into words and meaning.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, my primary goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where the child feels comfortable. I focus on getting to know the child by exploring their current concerns, experiences, and what brings them to therapy, while allowing space for them to engage at their own pace.

I build rapport through age appropriate, engaging activities such as play, drawing, or conversation, depending on the child’s comfort level. This helps the child feel at ease and begin developing trust. I do not expect the child to share more than they are ready to.

A separate parent check in session is scheduled after the initial meeting to gather additional background information and discuss how we can support the child moving forward.
