Terra Shishido

I have a Master's in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. I have been a military spouse for over 17 years and have served off and on as a military-appointed support provider for military spouses and their families. This experience has given me a strong ability to connect with many people and has strengthened my role as an advocate. I hope to help embolden and transform the voice from within each of my clients through positive regard, empathy, and challenge.

I use an integrative approach to therapy consisting of IFS, EMDR, Sensorimotor, and Attachment. I find that this combination is the most effective in helping to treat and more completely heal varying types of traumas and conflicts. What this looks like for clients is building and strengthening your insight and awareness of your individual system through a relationship with yourself.

Since trauma often ruptures someone's ability to feel in control of themselves and things happening to them, I like to provide a client-led session making sure to partner with you in your treatment through seeking your permission and checking in to see how you are experiencing your therapy. It is imperative to set you in the driver's seat to help reestablish your ability to lead yourself.
