Great to meet you!

I'm Valerie, an LCSW-S with over 15 years of experience working with adults, couples, and families. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, and relationship stress with a particular focus on Latinxe individuals, first-generation professionals, and first responders navigating the weight of high-pressure lives. I've worked in schools, intensive clinical settings, and community mental health, and I bring all of that depth into my private practice. I offer sessions on weekdays and Sundays. In person & Telehealth for Texas Telehealth for Maryland, Arkansas, and New Mexico. I accept many insurance plans and offer a sliding scale.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and culturally affirming. I draw on CBT, DBT, ACT, CPT, psychodynamic, somatic, and family systems frameworks. We choose what fits you, not a formula. I believe the therapeutic relationship is where real change begins, and I take that seriously. You'll find me warm, direct, and genuinely invested in your growth. This is a space where your whole story is welcome, including the parts that feel too heavy or complicated to say out loud.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake checklist. I'll want to understand what brought you here, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for. You don't need to have it all figured out, we'll figure it out together. I'll share how I work and make space for your questions too. By the end, you'll have a sense of whether we're a good fit and what our work together might look like. Come as you are.
