Great to meet you!

I specialize in helping high-conflict couples break out of cycles of blame, negativity, and repeated arguments. My approach focuses first on reducing the emotional intensity that keeps couples stuck, then on building practical changes in communication, behavior, and problem-solving. The goal is to help each partner feel more understood, less reactive, and better able to work together. For couples who want it, I also offer counseling from a Christian perspective.

My approach to therapy

I take a structured approach to couples therapy that is especially helpful for high-conflict relationships. First, I work to reduce blame, defensiveness, and negativity by helping each partner understand the other in a less damaging and more compassionate way. Once that foundation is in place, we focus on practical changes in communication, behavior, and problem-solving that support a healthier relationship. I also help couples prepare for setbacks so they can maintain progress over time. For couples who want it, I offer counseling from a Christian perspective.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect me to focus on understanding what is bringing them in, how their conflict unfolds, and what keeps them stuck. I work actively and may interrupt at times to slow escalation, redirect unproductive exchanges, and help both partners step out of their usual pattern. While I often begin offering new ways for each partner to understand the other early on, meaningful de-escalation usually takes time because I first need to clearly understand the relationship dynamic. My goal is to create a structured, balanced environment where both partners feel heard and where we can begin building toward lasting change rather than a quick but temporary fix.
