Dr. Zapf is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience providing care across the lifespan, from children and adolescents to adults and older adults. She specializes in diagnostic assessment and evidence-based therapy, with expertise in eating disorders, ADHD/ASD, perinatal mental health, trauma, sex and health psychology for individuals managing chronic medical conditions. She has a unique background with extensive medical knowledge in addition to a Bachelor's in Biology from St. Bonaventure University, and both a Master's and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from Medaille College/University. Dr. Zapf completed her post-doc at Cornell University CAPS where she worked specializing in eating disorders, health psychology, and trauma. She is also highly involved in her community and serves on multiple boards.

My approach to therapy

In her clinical practice, Dr. Zapf provides individual, family, couples, and group therapy. She is passionate about helping clients build resilience, strengthen relationships, and find practical strategies to support well-being. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, tailoring treatment to each person’s unique strengths, challenges, and cultural context.

With a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered treatment, Dr. Zapf strives to create a supportive environment where individuals and families feel empowered, understood, and equipped to thrive.

The first session is used to explore personal history, current challenges and identify personal goals to ensure good clinical fit and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
