Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Alexandra Lawless — a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in Louisiana and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I’m also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). But most importantly, I’m someone deeply committed to helping you find healing, clarity, and growth.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for change, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore your story, work through life’s challenges, and build the life you truly desire.

I’m a proud Miami native, now living in Louisiana with my wonderful husband and stepdaughter. Outside of therapy, I love cooking new recipes with my family, traveling, trying new restaurants, watching movies, and yes — diving into peer-reviewed journal articles (I’m a lifelong learner at heart!).

With a Ph.D. in Counseling (specializing in Marriage, Family, and Couples), a Master’s in Counselor Education, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology, I bring over a decade of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in both public and private sectors. From the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice to charter schools and community mental health agencies, my work has always centered around helping people build capacity - to Mend, Grow, and Live the life they desire for themselves.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is a collaborative journey — one where we work together to uncover what’s holding you back and create real, meaningful change. Whether you’re seeking individual, couples, family, or group therapy, I tailor our work to fit your unique needs and goals.

My role is to listen deeply, reflect honestly, and empower you to make the positive decisions that support your well-being. Together, we’ll honor your experiences and build the path forward — one session at a time.

“Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should, or need to do it alone.” — Lisa Olivera

“Success as a therapist is not found in doing something for the client, but rather in being someone for the client.” — Ili Rivera Walter

What you can expect from me

At Stitched Therapy and Consulting, you can expect a supportive and collaborative space to build the capacity needed to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity. Our work together will focus on helping you MEND emotional and relational patterns that no longer serve you while strengthening your ability to adapt to change effectively. Through intentional and personalized counseling, we’ll focus on GROWING your emotional, psychological, and relational skills—equipping you with tools and insights that foster resilience and forward momentum. Capacity building is a process of developing and strengthening the abilities, skills, and resources that individuals need to function effectively in their relationships and daily lives. Whether you’re facing stress, transitions, or complex dynamics, we’ll work together to support your growth in a way that aligns with your values and goals. The ultimate aim is for you to LIVE the life you want—purposefully, confidently, and with the emotional flexibility to thrive.
