Great to meet you!

Dr. Pillat specializes in clinical psychology with a focus on child and adolescent development. She offers therapy and support for children and their families facing challenges associated with autism, ADHD, and anxiety. Understanding that each child is unique, we tailor our therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs of each family.

In addition, Dr. Pillat conducts psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for autism, ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, and other developmental and behavioral concerns. However, Headway does not allow billing for evaluations - if you are seeking an evaluation please contact my practices directly.

Dr. Pillat holds a A.B. from Harvard and a M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Marcus Autism Center at Emory University.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Pillat believes in therapy that focuses on skill-building, whether it is learning how to cope with emotions, learning daily adaptive skills, or learning to socially engage and communicate with others. Therapy for children should also heavily rely on the support of parents. Parent coaching is regularly incorporated, often by having children teach the skills they learn to their parents.

What you can expect from me

The first session is dedicated to understanding the specific concerns and needs of the child and family. We strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where all family members feel safe and supported. Expect to leave the first session with a clearer understanding of the path forward and feeling hopeful for the future.
