Great to meet you!

After 20 years as an educator, I decided to enter into counseling. In undergraduate I was a psychology major, but I did not feel I had enough life experience to give insight and support to others. I am grateful I waited because I now feel able to help clients manage very challenging life events. I especially enjoy the dynamics of families and couples. Everyone is a part of a family system and much of what is brought to therapy connects back to our upbringing. I often meet with clients individually and then, over time, clients will invite family members in to help process challenging events.

My approach to therapy

We begin with collaborative goal-setting, adapting to your unique needs. Treatment may involve DBT skills for daily stability, Gottman Method for relationship conflict, or EMDR to gently process trauma. My approach is flexible and compassionate, focused on measurable, research-based outcomes to help you feel better and more confident. I attune myself to your needs at the moment.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we will complete an intake interview. You will have an opportunity to share important information that impacts how you show up today. You will also share your why for therapy. Together we will goal set for what we should work on in the following sessions. If you have any questions, I will allow time to talk these through with you.
