Great to meet you!

My name is Alice Mills Mai. I’m a trauma and resilience psychotherapist specializing in supporting immigrants, children of immigrants, and Black women who are ready to move beyond survival and into wholeness. I am an EMDR-trained trauma therapist, resilience researcher (almost Dr. Alice!), and a Ghanaian immigrant woman reclaiming her story out loud. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and culturally attuned, grounded in a deep understanding of the unique stressors faced by African immigrants and their descendants.

Using EMDR and other evidence-based practices, I help clients process complex trauma, reconnect with their truth, and reclaim their power. Whether you're navigating generational wounds, burnout, or a sense of disconnection, therapy with me offers a space to be fully seen, heard, and supported.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, compassionate, culturally attuned, and rooted in understanding the unique challenges faced by African immigrants, children of African immigrants, and Black women. Whether you’re navigating stress, past trauma, or feelings of disconnection, I am here to support you in developing resilience and reclaiming your narrative.

What you can expect from me

I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we will work to break free from patterns that no longer serve you and move toward a life of purpose and fulfillment.
