Hi! I'm Amanda, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I bring specialized expertise in complex mental health conditions while maintaining an unwavering belief in your capacity for healing and growth. My clinical focus includes autism spectrum disorders, OCD, personality disorders, PTSD and trauma, schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders, alongside comprehensive treatment for depression, anxiety, panic, mood, and bipolar conditions.

What I want you to know is that I see our relationship as a true partnership. While I bring clinical knowledge and evidence-based treatment approaches, you bring the most important element—intimate knowledge of your own experience, strengths, and goals. My role is to listen deeply, understand your unique situation, and work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that feels right for you.

I'm particularly drawn to supporting individuals facing complex or multiple diagnoses because I understand these journeys require nuanced, individualized care. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health, and I pride myself on tailoring treatment to your specific needs, preferences, and circumstances. Whether that involves medication management, therapeutic interventions, or connecting you with resources, we'll explore all options together.

My practice is built on respect, transparency, and hope. I celebrate every step of progress and help you recognize your inherent strengths. I believe that meaningful change is always possible. I'm here to remind you of your resilience and walk alongside you toward healing.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care blends clinical expertise with genuine warmth and deep compassion. Whether you are navigating a new diagnosis, managing a long-term condition, or simply working to understand yourself more fully, you will find a supportive, judgment-free space with me. I strive to create an environment where you feel truly seen, heard, and respected. Reaching out for support takes real courage, and I honor that by remaining fully present and committed to our work together. I meet you where you are, and we move forward at whatever pace feels right for you.

Together, we build a collaborative partnership grounded in trust, openness, transparency, and shared decision-making. Rooted firmly in evidence-based psychiatric practice, I see you as a whole person with your own unique experiences, values, and goals, and I will never reduce you to a single diagnosis. I bring clinical training and medical knowledge to our work, while you remain the true expert on your own life and experiences.

I consider medication only when it offers clear, meaningful benefit, weighing potential gains against possible risks and revisiting that balance as your needs evolve over time. I also draw on patient education, lifestyle-focused wellness strategies, and evidence-informed methods to support your overall wellbeing and long-term health.

I recognize that sleep, nutrition, relationships, and daily stressors all genuinely shape mental health, and I give thoughtful, careful attention to each of these areas alongside you. I also understand that every person brings a unique cultural background, personal identity, and worldview to their mental health journey, and I remain devoted to providing care that is culturally responsive, affirming, and inclusive for every person I have the privilege to serve.

What you can expect from me

From the very first moment we meet, you can expect a calm, welcoming space grounded in clinical expertise and heartfelt compassion. My highest priority is creating an environment where you feel truly seen, respected, and heard. Choosing to reach out for help takes real courage, and I honor that by showing up with full presence and careful attention right from the start. There is no judgment here, only a sincere commitment to helping you move forward.

I take time to know you as a whole person — your lived experiences, your hopes, and the path that brought you here — rather than fixating on symptoms or rushing toward a diagnosis. While I bring a thorough, evidence-based psychiatric lens to our work, I never forget that you are the expert on your own life and the final decision-maker in your care.

You can also expect a collaborative conversation about how you're doing right now. I explore several important areas, among them sleep, nutrition, relationships, and sources of stress, since each one shapes mental health in meaningful ways. This complete approach helps me understand the full picture of your life, so together we can craft a treatment plan that genuinely reflects who you are and what you need.

When medication enters our conversations, I approach it with openness and care, recommending it only when there is a clear benefit. I weigh the possible advantages against any potential risks, and I keep reassessing whether a medication still serves you well as your circumstances shift. When it fits, I pair medication with psychoeducation and lifestyle strategies that support your wellbeing.

Healing does not always follow a straight line, and I believe progress, however small, is worth acknowledging. My hope is that you leave our first session feeling more understood and more hopeful than when you arrived. I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way, offering steady support as we build a plan that fits your life.
