As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing medication management and therapeutic interventions, I bring both clinical expertise and a deeply compassionate approach to each client relationship. My practice is centered on providing culturally sensitive care that respects your unique background and experiences.

My professional background includes work in crisis intervention, corrections, forensic settings, and both adult and child/adolescent outpatient care. This varied experience has equipped me with the skills to evaluate and treat a wide range of mental health conditions through both medication management and therapeutic interventions.

I believe in a collaborative approach to mental healthcare where we work together as partners in your treatment journey. During our sessions, I conduct comprehensive evaluations that help us develop a personalized care plan tailored specifically to your needs and goals.

My experience in psychiatric emergency settings has prepared me to remain calm and effective even in crisis situations, while my work in forensic environments has enhanced my ability to provide care in challenging circumstances. I'm comfortable using telepsychiatry when appropriate to increase accessibility to care.

I value the importance of a team-based approach and often coordinate with other healthcare providers to ensure you receive comprehensive support.

My commitment is to create a safe, judgment-free environment where you can express yourself openly as we work together toward improving your mental wellbeing.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to care begins with the understanding that every person who walks into my office carries a unique story, shaped by their experiences, culture, and personal journey. I believe healing happens in relationship, so I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly heard and understood. Rather than rushing to diagnose or prescribe, I take time to listen deeply to what you're experiencing and what matters most to you. I integrate evidence-based psychiatric treatments with a holistic view of your wellbeing, considering how factors like sleep, relationships, work stress, and life transitions impact your mental health. Whether we're exploring medication options, developing coping strategies, or processing difficult emotions, I meet you where you are in your healing journey. I'm particularly passionate about reducing the stigma around mental health by normalizing these conversations and helping you understand that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. My goal isn't just symptom management, but helping you rediscover your resilience and build a life that feels meaningful and authentic to you. I believe in collaborative care, working alongside you as a partner in your wellness rather than as an expert dictating treatment. Together, we'll develop strategies that fit your lifestyle, values, and goals, adjusting our approach as you grow and change.

What you can expect from our first session

From our sessions together, you'll walk away with something most people crave but rarely find: genuine understanding without judgment. I see mental health struggles not as flaws to fix, but as human experiences that deserve compassion and expert care. You'll gain practical coping strategies tailored specifically to your life—not generic advice, but tools that actually work for your unique situation. We'll explore medication options if needed, always with your comfort and goals at the forefront. Most importantly, you'll leave knowing that someone truly heard you. I believe healing happens when you feel safe enough to be vulnerable, and I work hard to create that space. You'll develop deeper self-awareness, learn to recognize your patterns and triggers, and build confidence in managing your mental health. My approach combines clinical expertise with warmth and authenticity—I'm not here to be your friend, but I am here to care deeply about your wellbeing. You'll gain clarity about your diagnosis, understand your treatment options, and feel empowered to make informed decisions about your care. Many clients tell me they feel lighter after our sessions, like a weight has been lifted. That's because we're not just treating symptoms—we're addressing the whole person. You'll leave with hope, practical skills, and the knowledge that recovery is not only possible but within your reach.
