Hi everyone! My name is Amira and I received my Forensic Mental Health Counseling master's degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and also obtained a certification in victimology studies. My specialties areas are substance abuse, addictions, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and LGBTQ related issues.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I use an eclectic approach of evidence-based treatment modalities which include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavioral therapy, psychodynamic theory, and interpersonal based sessions. Through a non-judgmental and empathetic approach, I believe in assisting the client gain insight into their thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors to ultimately promote a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
