Great to meet you!

I worked as a mental health technician at an inpatient behavioral hospital for over seven years to gain experience with the true needs of the chronically mentally ill and those in crisis. I worked myself through the masters program at Loyola University New Orleans and was promoted to a therapist at that behavioral hospital. I have worked with over 2500 patients, ran two psychotherapy groups daily, conducted crisis assessments/interventions, and sharpened my therapeutic skills in a fast and unpredictable environment. I not only have experience with chronic mental illness, but with community outreach, case management, and a vast variety of individuals from all backgrounds.

My approach to therapy

I approach counseling through a family systems lens where attachment and multigenerational family patterns can unknowingly dictate or influence behaviors and interactions. I believe that maladaptive patterns can be broken to give way to authenticity and fulfillment. As a certified clinical trauma professional, I utilize sensorimotor psychotherapy interventions to focus on and address how the body holds trauma. Understanding the relationship between the body, emotions, and thoughts can bring self-awareness. Self-awareness can unleash power and great potential for positive change.

Embrace change. It's within you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session typically consists of getting to know each other, setting specific goals to embody the change you want to see, and completing an assessments or two.
