Dr. Angelica Almazan earned her medical degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019. She completed psychiatry residency training at Woodmont Community Hospital in Tamarac, FL. She served as Chief Resident, managing the day-to-day operations of her residency program while starting her private practice as a junior associate of Mental Health Advocates in Boca Raton, FL. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Almazan utilizes a supportive, holistic, individualized approach when it comes to mental health. Treatment plans are rooted in evidenced-based medicine while incorporating various schools of psychotherapy including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. She is experienced in treating mood, anxiety, psychotic, trauma-related, personality, eating, obsessive-compulsive, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders.
