Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Anisa Almeida, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.

I have supported clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and emotional regulation difficulties. In addition to my clinical work, I have experience in school counseling, which has given me a strong understanding of the emotional, academic, social, and developmental needs of children and teens.

I am passionate about helping clients feel supported, understood, and empowered as they navigate challenges and work toward personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and solution-oriented. I believe therapy should be a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I work with clients to better understand their thoughts, emotions, patterns, and relationships while also building practical tools they can use outside of session.

I often use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies. My focus is on helping clients manage anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and emotional regulation.

I meet clients where they are and tailor sessions to their individual needs, goals, and comfort level. Together, we work on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and creating realistic steps toward growth and healing.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where we begin getting to know one another. I focus on learning more about what brings you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

We will talk about your current concerns, background, strengths, coping skills, and goals for treatment. My priority is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and understood while also beginning to identify realistic next steps. By the end of the first session, my hope is that you feel supported and have a clearer sense of how therapy can help you move forward.
