Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Leo Munoz, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner dedicated to helping individuals find clarity, balance, and healing through compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I work with adults and adolescents facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and stress-related disorders.

I received my training as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) from Walden University and several other degrees including a Masters in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I have 10 years of experience building on a strong foundation in nursing, behavioral health, and psychopharmacology. My background includes experience in both outpatient and acute care settings, which has given me a broad lens on how mental health impacts every facet of life — and how individualized treatment makes all the difference.

My practice blends clinical expertise with genuine human connection. I believe that healing happens not only through medication or therapy, but through trust, collaboration, and an understanding of your unique story. Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, struggling with long-standing symptoms, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you with clarity, care, and clinical rigor.

In our work together, you can expect a thoughtful, down-to-earth style. I aim to demystify psychiatry and empower you to make informed decisions about your care — because mental health isn’t just about surviving, it’s about reclaiming your life with purpose.

My approach to therapy

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my approach to care is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and clinical integrity. I believe every individual brings a unique narrative, shaped by their history, environment, and resilience — and my role is to listen deeply, understand fully, and respond with both evidence-based treatment and human connection.

I take a relational and trauma-informed approach to psychiatry. My style is warm, direct, and nonjudgmental. I aim to create a safe and empowering space where clients feel heard, respected, and engaged in their own healing. Whether we’re navigating mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, or complex comorbidities, I see each client as a partner in care — not a diagnosis.

I’m particularly focused on integrative, whole-person treatment. This means incorporating lifestyle, mindfulness, and behavioral strategies alongside thoughtful medication management when appropriate. I stay attuned to the latest psychiatric research while keeping grounded in the lived realities my clients face.

At the core, I want people to feel better — but more than that, I want them to feel seen, understood, and supported as they reclaim their lives.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect our sessions to be grounded in trust, openness, and clinical clarity. Whether we’re working through a new diagnosis, adjusting medications, or exploring patterns that impact your well-being, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen — not just as a set of symptoms, but as a whole person.

Together, we’ll work toward tangible goals: improved emotional regulation, deeper self-awareness, restored daily functioning, and sustainable relief from distress. I believe in setting collaborative, realistic expectations while always holding space for growth and transformation.

Our sessions won’t feel rushed or clinical in the cold sense — they’ll feel purposeful, supportive, and personalized. I take time to explain your options clearly, whether we're discussing medication, coping strategies, or how therapy fits into the picture. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of your mental health and a plan that makes sense for your life.

Ultimately, clients walk away with more than a treatment plan — they leave with agency, insight, and the feeling that they’re not alone on the path to healing.
