Great to meet you!

My name is Ashley Morgan. I am an LCSW by profession, and a mother, wife, daughter, friend, lover of the outdoors, horse girl and forever life learner by creation. I was drawn to a career in mental health due to my awareness and involvement with mental health crises from a young age. Pursuing my graduate degree in social work, with an emphasis in mental health, only strengthened my passion for working with others along their mental health journey. I have professionally been working in the mental health field as an LCSW for over ten years and still find my work extremely gratifying and fulfilling. I believe it is truly a privilege to work alongside individuals as they are experiencing some of their most vulnerable moments in life. I enjoy working with individuals ranging in ages from 12 to 90, as well as working with families. I utilize an eclectic approach, drawing from various modalities, seeing the individual and their life situation as a whole. My goal is to provide a safe and comforting space where I can be an active supporter in helping you heal, learn and grow.

My approach to therapy

I would describe myself as dynamic. Therefore I bring to the therapy table many different useful skills and approaches. I am able to sit, listen and hold space when needed. I am able to validate and not push when things are tender and timing is not right. But I can also be very solution focused and goal oriented when someone tells me they want to create change and see it through. I am not afraid to encourage a client to see a different perspective or try something new, if it seems it aligns with their goals. And I am definitely not afraid to celebrate your wins and accomplishments in life, no matter how big or small. My goal is to have your therapy sessions feel safe, where you can heal, learn and grow in an environment where you feel validated, seen, supported and empowered.

What you can expect from me

The first session is often not the most fun and exciting session we will have together. But it is an important first step, where we can build mutual trust and develop the foundation for future sessions. This is a session where we will go over the ground rules of therapy, to make sure there is an open understanding and transparency. And then it sometimes can consist of a lot of questions and you telling me about what brought yourself to therapy. In the following sessions, we will begin diving deeper into different matters, developing goals to work towards, and making progress along your mental health journey.
