Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Bernard Scott, LICSW, PsyD and I am a long-time resident of Roxbury/Boston, Massachusetts and come from Southern roots Georgia. I attended Boston Public Schools, Simmons University, Boston University, and Southern California University for Professional Studies. Upon graduating from college, I worked in a number of mental health centers in Boston and Brockton. Throughout the years I also taught Psychology in Boston Colleges. My approach with clients is to be an active listener, interactive, nonjudgemental, caring, and friendly. We will start therapy by identifying whatever is disturbing your peace and tranquility and identify different ways to address it. We will identify coping skills and solutions to get you back to your optimum self.

My approach to therapy

I have spent 30 plus years in the mental health field and have learned different therapies throughout that time. I utilize a number of therapies to return you to your optimum self. Together we will identify what works for you. No two people are alike and each of us are unique. I also encourage my clients to utilize Eastern therapies (acupuncture, message therapy, reiki, yoga, acupressure, Chinese herbal medicine, Tai Chi, etc.) together with talk counseling to reach their optimum self.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to address your current mental health concerns, needs, or problems. They will leave understanding how to handle life's challenges with new learned coping skills and ways of thinking, etc.
