Great to meet you!

Hey! My name is Blake and I am a millennial from Atlanta, GA (born and raised). I completed undergrad at Western Kentucky University and I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University in 2022. Although I have only had my LPC for a little over a year at the time of writing this, I have over 7 years of experience and have worked as a mental health therapist in the following settings: mental health hospitals (inpatient and outpatient), jails, emergency departments, and at a high school. In these environments, I have worked primarily with adults and adolescents. I have helped many work through and overcome depression, anxiety, past trauma, low motivation and more. I like to utilize solution focused interventions as well as CBT, depending on what the client needs. I've been told I have a very calm and inviting aura, which help my clients feel more relaxed and ready to work on themselves. I'm looking forward to us working together!

My approach to therapy

Ultimately I consider myself to be a solution focused therapist. However, sometimes before we get straight to the solution, we must first have a better understanding of how our individual minds work. Once we get a better understanding of our thoughts and emotions, we can control them more effectively and use that to propel you towards your goal.

What you can expect from me

When it comes to therapy, I believe it's important to have a clear understanding in the beginning of what we will be working towards. During the first session not only will we identify the treatment goal, we will also spend time getting to know each other, with most of the focus being on you. We'll talk about your interests, hobbies, likes, dislikes, values, and more.
