Great to meet you!

Most of my experience has been working with adults in the areas of anxiety, depression, relationship and family issues, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem. I use an eclectic approach, by combining techniques and interventions from cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, person-centered, and attachment style.

My approach to therapy

Taking the first steps to start the therapeutic process can be anxiety-provoking. As a clinician, I strive to establish an environment in which clients feel comfortable, safe, and free of judgment. I aim to offer compassionate and collaborative care. As a first-generation Mexican American woman, I understand the importance of mental health and societal pressures in marginalized communities. It is important to me to get to know the different parts of a client's life in order to tailor therapy to meet their unique needs. I speak English and Spanish and welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities. I hold an MSEd in Mental Health Counseling from City University of New York, Hunter College, which has equipped me with the skills to provide effective and culturally sensitive care.

What you can expect from me

In the first session I will complete an intake assessment to gather as much information to better assess and get to know you, your history, and what concerns have brought you to therapy and therefore set up goals. The following sessions, we will engage in talk therapy while pulling from various modalities to help you achieve your goals. Our sessions are 45 min in length on a weekly basis.

Please allow 15 minutes before the session to do the intake paperwork.

I PROVIDE PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES ONLY; PLEASE NOTE I DON’T PROVIDE MEDICATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES.
