Great to meet you!

Hey! I’m Carey, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor here in Georgia. I am a University of Georgia graduate then continued my education at Thomas University. I enjoy working with mostly adolescents and young adults, although I accept adults as well, who may be feeling anxious, depressed, or simply going through a tough time. I view counseling as a partnership where both the client and counselor work together to achieve the goals that the client sets for themselves, and I am always excited and try my best to help those goals come to fruition.

I chose counseling after my own journey, and I always dream of being the counselor that I needed when I was younger and seeking help.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while empowering you, identifying your strengths, and learning how to challenge yourself in areas you might want to grow in. I also like to make life a bit lighter by adding some humor and laughing during sessions when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, I prefer to do a getting-to-know you session. You don’t know me, and I don’t know you. It helps us both feel more comfortable and decide if we are a good fit. After, I like to set the goals that you decide on for yourself to reach during the therapeutic relationship as well as a rough plan on how to achieve them.
