Great to meet you!

I'm Carrie — a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working with people who are smart, capable, and still struggling. My clients are often high-achieving women navigating burnout, life transitions, or anxiety that's been quietly running in the background for years. I also work with adolescents and families when a young person is struggling and the whole system needs support.

I take a neurodivergent-affirming approach, which means I meet you where your brain actually is — not where the world tells you it should be. Sessions are warm, real, and practical. I believe the best therapy doesn't just make you feel understood; it gives you tools you'll actually use when you leave my office.

My approach to therapy

I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing — but the real through-line is collaboration. I don't hand you a script; I help you find your own. Using a strength-based, solution-focused framework, we identify what's already working, clarify what needs to shift, and build skills that stick.I integrate mindfulness and distress tolerance when anxiety or emotional overwhelm is at the center, and I pull in Family Systems and Emotionally Focused approaches when relationships — with a partner, a child, or yourself — are part of the picture.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my primary goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you can speak honestly about your current pain and challenges—laughing, crying, or venting are all welcome here. We will explore your unique journey and begin to identify the barriers keeping you from your best self. By the end of our meeting, we will have a clear "working outline" of the supports you need and a preliminary plan to help you navigate life’s ups and downs with renewed confidence and resilience.
