Great to meet you!

I hold a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College and an undergraduate degree in Exceptional Education from the University of Central Florida. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade in education, including six years in higher education supporting students and families through college transitions.

My background has equipped me to work with individuals, couples, and families navigating life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and communication difficulties. I'm currently experiencing my own life transition as an empty nester while caring for aging parents, which deepens my understanding of these seasons of change.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy painting and spending time outdoors, especially in the North Georgia mountains. I'm passionate about helping people develop resilience as they work through difficult experiences.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is a collaborative process where clients are the experts on their own lives. My approach is warm, insightful, and grounded in helping clients recognize their strengths and capacity for growth—even when they can't see it themselves.

I integrate cognitive-behavioral techniques with a person-centered foundation, helping clients identify patterns, reframe unhelpful thinking, and make values-based decisions. I emphasize connections between past experiences and current challenges while empowering clients to create meaningful change. With couples, I use the Gottman approach to build friendship, manage conflict constructively, and strengthen communication.

I create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore difficult emotions, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop practical skills. My approach is both compassionate and action-oriented—helping clients move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered by focusing on what they can control, celebrating progress, and building resilience through life's difficult seasons.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I'll create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood. We'll work collaboratively—you're the expert on your life, and I'm here to help you gain clarity and move forward.

I'll help you identify patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. We'll explore connections between your past and current challenges, and I'll help you reframe unhelpful thinking that prevents you from seeing your own growth and strengths.

For those navigating grief and loss, I understand grief doesn't follow a timeline or look the same for everyone. I'll create space for you to process at your own pace and help you carry your loss while moving forward—whether you're grieving a loved one, a relationship, a life transition, or a version of yourself you thought you'd be.

You can expect practical tools and exercises between sessions. I balance reflection with action, so we're actively working toward solutions, not just talking about problems. With couples, I use the Gottman approach to improve communication, deepen understanding, and rebuild connection.

My goal is to help you move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered, recognizing your progress and building resilience.
