Great to meet you!

Hi!

I'm Caty, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 19 years of experience.

I specialize in helping adults with:

  • ADHD
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Executive functioning challenges (like organization, focus, and planning)
  • Burnout and transitions

My passion for social work and empowering others truly began during my two years as a Peace Corps volunteer (2006-2008) in the Philippines. I saw firsthand the power of helping individuals develop practical processes to address barriers and make their lives better. This involved facilitating development of a community resource center and a crisis intervention framework for previously imprisoned children, assisting women recovering from sex trafficking and sexual trauma, and collaborating on economic resilience for indigenous tribes, which all ignited my love for creating tangible solutions.

Over the past 19 years, I've realized that I am most helpful when specializing in working with clients facing ADHD, burnout, and executive function barriers. I understand that talk therapy alone often falls short for ADHD and burnout; clients need clear structure and actionable strategies. That's why I enjoy collaborating to develop ways for clients to easily and shame-free track their progress.

As someone who has personally navigated ADHD challenges, I bring a deeply empathetic and informed perspective to understanding both the unique struggles and significant strengths associated with neurodivergence.

My diverse professional background also includes private practice, developing large-scale mental health programs, and extensive employment advocacy (as a union officer and EEOC investigator). This provides valuable insight into workplace dynamics and career growth, helping clients manage professional transitions and workplace issues.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is direct, practical, and goal-oriented, built on the belief that effective change for ADHD, burnout, and executive function challenges often requires more than just conversation. I understand that traditional talk therapy alone can fall short, so my sessions provide clear structure and actionable strategies specifically tailored to your unique brain.

Here's how we'll work together to achieve your goals:

• Collaborative Problem-Solving: We'll leverage techniques like Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to identify your strengths, address barriers, and create practical processes that truly make life better.

• Personalized Systems & Hacks: I love developing easy, shame-free ways for you to track your progress and insights. This might include "environmental hacks," "body doubling," or "gamification with timers" to help you build momentum and motivation.

• Active Coaching: Think of our sessions as active coaching. We'll go beyond talking to build tangible strategies for organization, focus, and managing overwhelm, empowering you to make choices that align with your values and design an environment that fosters your success.

• Self-Trust & Empowerment: My goal is to help you break cycles of self-doubt, reframe challenges as strengths, and learn to use your unique brain to your advantage.

What you can expect from me

Clients consistently gain significant and lasting benefits from our work together. You can expect to leave sessions with:

• Deeper Self-Awareness & Insight: You'll develop a profound understanding of your thought patterns, emotional triggers, and how your unique brain works (especially with ADHD), connecting past experiences to present challenges.

• Actionable Strategies & Practical Tools: We'll co-create personalized systems and "hacks" for organization, focus, time management, and emotional regulation. This includes environmental adjustments, body doubling, and gamification to build momentum.

• Enhanced Self-Trust & Confidence: You'll learn to break cycles of self-doubt, reframe challenges as strengths, and leverage your neurodivergent traits to your advantage, fostering a stronger belief in your capabilities and choices.

• Improved Communication & Relationships: You'll develop skills to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics, set healthy boundaries with greater ease, and foster more fulfilling connections in your personal and professional life.

• Measurable Progress & Tangible Improvements: You will see concrete changes in your daily functioning, symptom management (anxiety, burnout), and overall well-being, leading to a life that feels more aligned with your values and goals.

• Clear Path Forward: You'll leave sessions with concrete next steps, a sense of direction, and the tools to confidently manage future complexities, empowering you to thrive long after therapy concludes.
