I have worked in the field of trauma & resilience for 22 years. I am a practitioner of restorative yoga, ear acupuncture, meditation and intentional self- care.
Offering trauma-Informed Care (TIC), I emphasize safety, trust, empowerment and choice. My Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT) lens will address common trauma symptoms like intrusive thoughts, difficulty sleeping, hyperarousal, irritability, and anxiety.
We may explore the use of journaling and if appropriate the role of self advocacy, along with complementary community resources that promote healing.
My worldview encourages me to consider "how you interpret" your distress or trauma and discuss interventions that resonate with your intergenerational /cultural history or practices, l
We will work with story telling, spending time in nature, therapeutic baths and any ritual that promote caring for yourself.
I believe these approaches create a comprehensive approach to managing trauma and stress promote recovery and healing.
