Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Chenite (shuh-neet). I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in trauma-informed care and experience supporting people who have faced significant stress, loss, and life transitions. I’ve worked with youth impacted by trauma and substance use, as well as with diverse populations across community, IDD, and corrections settings. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can feel heard, respected, and supported. I bring compassion, openness, and a bit of humor into the room, because feeling comfortable matters when you’re doing hard work.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, solution-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based care. We’ll work together to understand what’s been weighing on you, whether that’s anxiety, panic, grief, relationship stress, or the impact of trauma, and identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I draw from trauma-focused CBT and other relational approaches to help you build practical coping tools, strengthen emotional resilience, and move toward changes that feel realistic and meaningful.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about creating a sense of safety and getting to know what’s bringing you in. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. We’ll talk about what you’re hoping for, what’s been feeling hardest, and what you want support with right now. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, a little lighter, and clearer about what next steps could look like as we move forward together.
