Great to meet you!

My name is Chiquana Allman, and I am a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Saint Joseph and a post-master's certification in psychiatric mental health from Wilkes University. I have been a registered nurse for 17 years — experience that has given me a deep, grounded understanding of how physical health, life circumstances, and mental wellbeing are all connected.

My clinical focus includes trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief and bereavement, stress, alcohol and substance use, and women's mental health. I am particularly passionate about supporting women navigating the emotional and psychological dimensions of their lives — including grief, body image, and the many challenges that can accompany different life stages.

Reaching out for help is one of the hardest things a person can do. If you're here, I want you to know: that took courage, and I take that seriously. I am here to meet you with warmth, without judgment, and with everything I have to offer.

My approach to therapy

My approach starts with listening — really listening — because every person who comes through my door has a unique story, unique challenges, and a unique vision of what better looks like for them.

Once we've built that understanding together, we work as a team. I believe in open, honest communication and in making sure every client is an active participant in their own care — not a passive recipient of it. We'll set goals together, revisit them as needed, and build a plan that genuinely reflects your life, your values, and what you're working toward.

As a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health NP, I bring a whole-person lens to care — attending to both the psychiatric and the physical dimensions of health, and understanding how deeply the two are intertwined.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know each other and laying a foundation for the work ahead. I'll create a warm, welcoming environment where you can speak openly — there is no judgment here, only curiosity and care.

We'll talk about what's brought you in, begin to identify the challenges you're facing, and start to set some initial goals — realistic, reachable ones that give us both a clear direction. I won't overwhelm you with a rigid plan on day one; I'll listen first and we'll build from there together.

By the end of our first session, you'll have a beginning sense of direction and, I hope, a genuine feeling of support. Whatever you've been carrying, you don't have to carry it alone anymore. I'm here to help — and I mean that.
