Anxiety, depression, ADHD and complex trauma are all too familiar to me- I feel so much joy when I am given the privilege to help others with their own, no matter where they are at in their process.
As a person who was late-in-life diagnosed A(u)DHD, I learned a lot of "bootcamp" social skills and navigation tools over the years to survive a harsh world not designed for people like me. I really excel in providing a validating space to join me, side by side, as we all learn how to ride this wild life.
I typically find my groove with clients by building a genuine connection; this can be unstructured or structured depending on your preference! Structured starts with me can look like trauma-informed psychoeducation, therapy skills basics (good ol' CBT to get us started) and mindfulness training.
Based on your goals for therapy and which pieces you connect to during psychoeducation, together we explore what is needed for you to find your balance and healthy functioning.
I take on an advocate’s role for all your parts, including your body. With mindfulness and radical acceptance, I can help guide you to a different kind of relationship with yourself. Those who resonate with this or feel curious about these approaches, you and I may be a good fit!
Being a completely logic-based person brings imbalance over time, and it will inevitably catch up with you. It is absolutely the same with being entirely emotion-based!
Once we get comfortable with one another, I tend to bring in elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy’s wise mind and Internal Family Systems (IFS, parts work, inner child wounds, ego work) as a guide to converse with ourselves in a more productive, accepting, and loving way. After all, we are all basically a trench coat full of different parts, just like Disney's Inside Out!
