Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Connor and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Master Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) with over a decade of experience helping individuals navigate addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Much of my work has focused on co-occurring disorders and supporting people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, or caught in patterns they have struggled to break.

I have experience working with individuals, families, and groups across a variety of clinical settings, including residential treatment and behavioral health leadership. I am trained in EMDR and incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while tailoring treatment to each person’s unique needs, goals, and pace.

My style is compassionate, honest, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely heard and supported, while also being challenged toward meaningful growth when needed. I work to create an environment that is welcoming, nonjudgmental, and grounded in trust, accountability, and real connection.

I work well with individuals struggling with addiction recovery, trauma, emotional regulation, men’s issues, relationship difficulties, codependency, stress, burnout, and unresolved emotional pain. Whether you are navigating a difficult season of life or trying to better understand yourself and your relationships, therapy can help you build insight, develop practical tools, and create lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and focused on meaningful, lasting change. I’m conversational and grounded in session, while also providing structure, direction, and accountability when needed. I work to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, genuinely understood, and able to speak openly without fear of judgment.

I believe in meeting individuals where they are while also helping them honestly examine the patterns, beliefs, and coping strategies that may be keeping them stuck. Therapy is not about perfection it is about increasing awareness, building insight, and creating practical change over time. Individuals often leave sessions with a deeper understanding of themselves, concrete tools they can apply in daily life, and a stronger sense of purpose and direction.

I integrate evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients process deeper experiences while also strengthening emotional regulation, communication, coping skills, and resilience. In working with addiction and co-occurring concerns, I view substance use not simply as “the problem,” but often as an attempted solution to deeper emotional pain, trauma, disconnection, or unmet needs. Together, we work to better understand and address those underlying issues.

I also encourage growth outside of sessions by offering tools, reflections, and strategies individuals can practice in everyday life. I work with individuals at all stages of change, and I believe meaningful progress starts with a willingness to be honest, open, and willing to try something different.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a relaxed, supportive, and conversational environment where we begin getting to know each other and exploring what brought you to therapy. I take an organic approach to the intake process, gathering important background information while also creating space for you to share your experiences, concerns, and goals in a way that feels natural and comfortable.

You do not need to have everything figured out or know the “right” way to explain what you are feeling. I will help guide the conversation, ask questions when needed, and work to understand both what is happening on the surface and what may be contributing underneath it. My approach is interactive and engaged, and I aim to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and able to be yourself without judgment.

We will move at a pace that feels manageable while also beginning to identify patterns, stressors, strengths, and areas you would like to change or better understand. During the first session, we will also review confidentiality, discuss how therapy works, and begin outlining goals for treatment, understanding that those goals may become clearer and more refined over time.

Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar, especially if you are used to handling things on your own. My hope is that you leave the first session feeling more understood, more grounded, and with a clearer sense that meaningful change is possible and that you do not have to work through things alone.
