Great to meet you!

My work as a trauma therapist hinges on my experiential faith in the healing capacity of an integrated body and mind. The prevalence of alcoholism and poverty in my family led me to experience a great deal of anxiety as a child, but I was lucky enough to be exposed to creativity as a means of expression and healing from an early age. dance, writing, and theater helped me through some of my most trying traumatic experiences. The arts paved my way to finding other movement-based modalities such as yoga, pranayama meditation, and Pilates to continue my personal healing, integration, and self-discovery.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, which can help clients with specific, targeted needs, focus on trauma resolution and achieve therapeutic progress in a time-efficient manner. I utilize Somatics, EMDR, and mindfulness based psychotherapy to facilitate relief from the emotional distress associated with disturbing life experiences.

What you can expect from me

Individual therapy sessions will be a collaborative tailored treatment program specific to your needs and goals. In our therapy sessions, you will gain enhanced coping skills (individual talk therapy, Somatic Experiencing, breath and mindfulness practices, and EMDR) for challenging work and relationship situations, improved clarity about future goals, reduced negative self-talk, and practical tools to support you in letting go of your past family and relationship trauma. One of the most important aspects of individual therapy is building healthy self-care routines and habits that will help you self-soothe and self-regulate when you are in distress.
